Hi All,
I had a heavy leg day on Wednesday, which involved squats and my neck is really hurting where the bar was resting. Does this happen to everyone else, how do you prevent this?
Thanks!

Where exactly does the bar rest on your back? It should NOT rest on your neck, but rather it should rest on your traps.

:yeahthat:
You have to really squeeze your shoulder blades together to form a shelf...

What they said. It should be well below your neck.
Again, what the others said.
There's also the issue of simply getting used to having heavier loads on your back, etc. Many people find it uncomfortable at first. I'd normally say, 'grow some traps', but you're a lady, and probably don't want big traps.

Ok, maybe I have it a little high...I wish I knew enough to say it is on C-#...it is probably just above my traps.

True that....women look scary with big traps! You should see this lady at my gym...whoa!
It was a heavier load than I have lifted in a long time, so yes, it could be that too.

It was a matter of getting used to it for me. Eventually you will. If it really bothers you though you can always use one of those pads they make for the bar...I personally don't like them though.
