View Full Version : If You Could Only Use One Rep Bracket ...
If you had to choose only one rep bracket to train in for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I'd choose 4-6.
Finally. A response.

Every time I do a poll you choose an answer that's not listed as an option.

Come on you 16-20 reppers.
I know you're out there.

But isn't that rep range for toning?

4-6 because I lift heavier with those 10-12 and I lower so form does not get blown away.

I don't mind higher reps.

I am gonna say the 4-6 range (the lowest I have ever done so far.) When do you only do 1-3? Is that when you are bulking? That sounds awesome to me!

1-3 reps is for developing maximal strength.

 before I knew anything, I thought that anything less than 12-15 reps was pointless

4-6 I like lower reps, but I want enough to maintain my muscles and be strong. That is not in hypertrophy range so much, but I'm okay with that if I could only choose one range.

Me too! I had never done low reps until 10 days ago and since I too am on the "get me out of here faster" side, I would have to say that 4-6 rocks! :dumbbells:

I chose 7-9. I'm not as concerned about maximal strength to have chosen the 4-6 rep range. And anything over 10 reps I consider pretty much high rep. I like lifting in the hypertrophy rep range.

I choose 4-6. Going any higher than 9 or 10 and I just feel worn out and not really that much stronger. This could be largely psychological though. I like the feeling of being able to crank out fewer heavier reps.
