So I normally do not like to post many questions because I never want to be the one to ask a dumb question

For the past month I have been eating very cleaning with no cheats with the exception of refeeds, and even with the refeeds I stuck to clean foods.
We just went on vacation and although I was eating clean for the most part, Christmas Day I did have some cheats- and yes they were dirty! :lol3:

When I woke up yesterday morning- my body, more specifically my "skin" (and the layer below it) was physically sensitive to touch- almost tender like a bruise would be. It was not my whole body but instead my stomach and my thighs.
What would cause this?

I actually think that someone else on here has had this same problem

That happens to me too, when I cheat and after refeeds. I always thought it's because you are retaining so much water that your skin actually feels achey to the touch.
After my cheats it's like I can't be touched for 2 days, then I feel human again

I do all the beating up in this relationship- so I already ruled that out.

So I am not the only one? :yippee:
Seriously I was so shocked at how sensitve those areas were.

Darling, I wasn't talking about you beating up anyone! :whipped:

It sounds to me like things got out of hand in Disneyland "between the sheets".

Yes it's this way for me too. Mainly my stomach, butt and thighs but can be my upper arms also. I hate it.

Were your refeeds clean?
I wonder why I never had this feeling when I had all day cheat in my plan  I ate way worse on those days than I did on Christmas.
Maybe the fact that I went so long eating clean?

This would be my guess.
My refeeds weren't nearly as bad as my cheats. I ws a little sore but nothing like my cheats.
I really suffer after those, i'm physically sore. Not that it stops me from stuffing my pie hole

After a long haul of clean foods, if I eat 'bad'for a day or two, or three, I will retain so much water either a)my skin will be puffy and hurt or b)my skin will be puffy and NUMB. Happens all the time.
Honestly, since my show, I am pretty much constantly dealing with numbness all over my hips/thighs.
I eat clean for a couple days, then eat a junk meal which water bloats me. By the time the water starts to come off I am eating another junk meal again.
OMG- I think when I really start prep dieting in March I may lose 10lbs just that first week!

Wow I guess I should have not eaten the funnel cake :lol3:
Had I known it would cause physical soreness

I swear they NEVER had funnel caked in the past. Leave it to them to decide to start selling them this year. :ban:

By the way it had strawberries and ice cream on top :shhh:

Is this phenomenon very uncommon or what?
Would this only happen to very lean women? I've never heard of it before.
I've got a gazillion of ill effects from food ingredients, which can be both from 'clean' or 'unclean' foods depending on which POV you have, but never experienced this one. Almost makes me envious :funny: (not!)

I don't think it's that uncommon...I get it on occasion, and I'm neither lean nor a clean eater.

Day 3 after Christmas and I'm finally not hurting anymore! :p
I have this problem too every time I take a cheat 'day'. I get so bloated that my skin hurts and my rings don't fit me or don't want to come off.
It's much less noticeable after just one cheat 'meal'.
I think this happens mostly to those of us who have water retention issues, especially following excess carb/sugar consumption.
Those of you who don't bloat as much, lucky you! ;)

I hurt often after eating 'dirty'. For me though it's often the joints in my hands, ankles, knees and feet that ache. Sometimes my skin is a little tender and with that (the skin) it is the water bloat from the salt and sugar.

Could that be because Pizza Pizza and Reeces are a staple of your diet?

Yes

My body is used to coaxing them to the muscles.

I feel this way too. It hurts to run on the treadmill.

I'm a male...and I can safely say it has given me that feeling of fullness I tend to feel immediately after one helluva a meal (I mean who wouldn't be at that point?).

Here's my theory behind that re: cheat days and that bloated feeling...I think it has to deal with alot of the sodium content present in processed foods. The natural effect of increased Sodium in the body causes alot of retention of water (not the Carbs as someone had stated earlier.). Thus, the feeling of bloating, feeling heavy is actually expected after a cheat meal I assume (I'm not a Nutritionist, but I am a Registered Nurse. I'm not sure what was each and everyone's cheat meal in here is but I'm assuming it had alot of calories and alot of carbs and of course alot of salt/sodium).

Just ask this guy eating the popcorn ----->

....and lots of sugar. Sugar gives me just as much if not more so problem than sodium, as I eat salt during my regular on plan meals, so unless it's very very high in sodium I don't react as bad to salt as I do sugar.

I think the carb bloat/tightness comes into effect just in the retention of water for those that were/are used to a very low carb diet and then do something like a huge refeed or cheat day.
