What constitutes a good workout for you?

Leaving everything I have got on the gym floor. I like to be totally cashed at the end of a really good workout.

knowing that I put in as much as I could, lifted the most weight I could (and still maintain form), got a good heart rate going and improved something that day whether it was speed, recovery time or weight amounts (even if it was only a 2.5# plate  )

A good workout for me means I gave it my all. Depending on the type of workout I'm doing at the moment, wheather it's a metabolic type and it kicked my butt or heavy lifting where I really pushed as hard as I could while keeping impeccable form as I know it. Not being able to walk down the stairs of my gym is a good indicator

"Good" workouts for me really come down to knowing that I did the best I could on that day. Being in that 'zone' I guess is a good way to put it.

For me I just have to 'feel' good in there. I don't need to go in and set any PRs to feel I had a good workout. I do want to feel strong through. For example, I don't want to lay down to bench and find the weight I plan on doing for 6, feels heavy at 3. That pisses me off.

I also like getting pumped. :lifter: So when I'm looking and feeling really full I tend to leave feeling like it was a good workout.

I guess for the most part, I just need to be in the groove. It's easier for me to list the things that would make me feel I didn't have a good workout - being weaker than expected is at the top of the list.

I love feeling spent after a workout.

During my bulk..I went in wanting the numbers to go up and when they did..I was HAPPY

:yeahthat:

Definitely true for me. It isn't always about lifting PRs but those are definitely sweet too.

Giving it 110%. Watching my form, staying focused, and pushing myself.
Oh and I love feeling like I can barely walk out of the gym.

:ditto:

Feeling strong (but not necessarily setting new PR's) is definitely an important factor for me. Nothing pisses me off more than getting to the gym to find out how weak I am on that particular day or on a particular exercise.

During a bulk, I do like to see the numbers go up like Noel. This is the best motivator for me to keep at it.
