Question here How many of you use the chalk in the gym. I left my gloves at home today (yeah I know I'm not the hardcore I know that) so I used some chalk today and after about 10 mins my fingers got red and itchy so bad the my fingertips turned purple. I had to stop lifting and could not finish my last super set cuase I could not close my hands it got so bad. Does anyone know why this might have happened. Isn't it just talc? Or do they ad other stuff in it? I've had it happen for lifting some of the bars that had chalk on them form the guy before me.

Maybe some kind of odd allergic reaction?

Sounds like an allergic reaction. I have contact dermatitis (excema)... basically i'm allergic to touching things like... cleansers, dust, etc. ...including CHALK.

And people will be doing that when I use my lysol wipes to whipe down that bar before I DL :finger:

My gym has chalk all over it I'm going to be so screwed if there is something in it that makes me breakout.

Wow. I use chalk and never thought of someone actually reacting to it. That stinks.

I know  I can touch things in the grocery store and break out. I'm just trying to pin point it. I used to use it all the time before for my DL

Any chance there is cornstarch in the chalk?
