View Full Version : Squats with feet elevated
Erik, I tried to do these instead of leg press since I don't have that machine. Well, I couldn't! I used my 35's for elevation but even with no BB I could only squat down to above-parallel. I'm very flexible in general- what's up?!
1.Should I just use some 10 plates to start with?
2.Should I do these with DBs?
3.What is the correct tempo and set/rep range?
Thank you!

1. 35s? That's steep. Just use 10s.
2. You're as flexible as you think obviously.

1. 10s are fine.
2. No
3. Whatever your program says.
Why am I having such a hard time picturing this exercise? Is it squats with your heels elevated?

So it's HEELS elevated, not FEET/TOES!!
I'm such a dork!
My program says to do 2X20 but that would be for leg press. I wasn't sure if I should do the same for this one. I would have to use a much lighter weight than my regular 6-8 rep squats, of course.

So there I was with my toes up on the 35s and 100 lbs on my shoulders, trying to do 2 sets of 20! No wonder I was almost falling backwards! :hahano:

Don't feel bad. When I first started with ERik, I combined my 3 x 5 rep exercises into one big 1 x 15. I thought he'd be so proud that I was thinking and trying to be more efficient. :ban:

No kidding. I am so spoiled with low reps now. Anytime a plan has anything over 8, I just want to kill someone. I remember the days when I did 12-15 reps (you know, to TONE) and I thought you had to spend at least an hour in the gym to get any results. Thank God I've seen the light!
