For those of you that are currently or did workout during pregnancy what types of healthy foods did you eat? I know that I am definitely lacking in the protein department. Just looking for some ideas on what to eat.

I've been having a hard time with protein as well. I've had to steer clear of most meat, it grosses me out! So I've been eating beans, milk of the chocolate variety, yogurt, cheese. I'm trying to reintegrate some meats, if it's hidden in another food...
Good luck!

I ate pretty much the same foods as I do now.. And other weird stuff that I was craving at the time  Like green peppers
all the good proteins...
I think that I did eat a lot more fruits while pregnant...I just really WANTED them.
What kind of food ideas are you after? You said you were lacking in the protein...do you have any aversions right now?

Protein has been hard for me, too. :yucky:
I haven't been able to do white meat this whole pregnancy...odd, because I LOVED chicken and turkey pre-pregnancy. I couldn't even have the turkey next to me at Thanksgiving this year. But I'm still fine with lean ground beef and steak.
On the flip side, I hated fish before pregancy, and now I am loving salmon and halibut, so don't hesitate to try new protein sources.
I've tried to get a lot of protein from non-meat sources for the most part...dairy, beans, lentils, etc. Couldn't do protein powder either. :yucky:

I am mostly just trying to get some ideas for different foods to try that are more on the healthy side. I don't really have any food aversions just some things sound more appealing than others and unfortunately they are bad things...a lot of carbs, sweets ect. I do eat alot of fruit as well. It always sounds good. I also know that I need to eat more veggies just for the fiber if nothing else.

I haven't really changed my diet at all. I still eat the same foods I was eating before getting pregnant - the proportions are slightly different though as I do eat more carbs though than before.
Protein sources for me are lean steak, egg whites, cottage cheese, protein powder and chicken if it is hidden in a dish (I can't eat chicken by itself since getting pregnant ).
I had the meat aversion, too, esp. in the first trimester. What saved me were protein shakes--milk, choc. protein powder, and a frozen banana whipped up. Tastes just like a Frosty. I also liked dumping a half cup of cottage cheese into a bowl with a half cup of ice cream--tasty good!

I would just like to say that I'm at 15 weeks and ate a whole steak last night! Yeah, I think some of my aversion is going away!
