Thought I had read a post about good fat, but I can't find it now.

First I want to say YEA!!! I can eat fat again. :yayconfetti:
I'm starting to wonder after reading a little more that not eating some fat might also be an issue for me. What are examples of good fat besides fish oil? Should I be "taking" my fats in pill form? Is there some kind of approved real to pill split?

Raw nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts, etc., etc.)
Olive oil (other good oils as well)
Avocado
Nut butters (almond butter, natural peanut butter, etc.)

How much of any food you eat depends on how it fits into the context of YOUR diet. No one can answer that question for you.

I don't know why I even asked that. I knwe you would say that. I think I was just soooo excited to be able to eat full fat cheese again!
So...could I eat my whole 72 grams of fat in full fat cheese, and not be naughty?
PLEASE say yes...

Why is hard cheese better than say shredded from the bag?

you are soooo wishful thinking. :D

You have to keep in mind that some of that fat will come from your meats and carbs as well. You will be surprised at how quickly you can hit your numbers for fat :D

Cheese comes in blocks too.

Yeah...when I think of hard cheese, I think block cheese. I really suck in the kitchen, so anyway I can save time is huge for me. That's why I asked about shredded.

I forgot about fats in meat etc..again, just so excited to eat cheese. I haven't eatten real cheese in at least a year and a half.

Can not eating good fats slow down your metabolism? Just trying to find answers.

Slow down metabolism… maybe not. But some fats (especially essential fatty acids, also known as EFA’s) are essential for your health. Some fat in your diet is also important for optimal hormone production.

Another practical reason for eating fats when dieting is that as your carbs get lower, there is only so much protein you can eat (once you’ve made your protein needs). Fat acts as a caloric ballast so that your daily calories don’t end painfully low.

And no, I wouldn’t eat all my fats from cheddar cheese… although that would be yummy  Make sure you get your fish oils daily (intake should be 6-10 caps a day). I would also add some monounsaturated fats such as olive oil, raw nuts, natural peanut butter…

Wow! 6-10 caps a day? I would not have guess that much. What kinds do you recommend?

Regular fish oil capsules containing 180mg EPA / 120mg DHA. Take 6 capsules per day.

Is it good fat, or bad? I usually eat just the whites, but the cheese thing has me wondering about my eggs (which I love BTW)
