o.k....so I eat a lot of celery to help me stay full. I've always felt like this was a sort of "free" veggie. I don't eat anything on it. Am I wrecking my diet?
I doubt it. How much? I cup has about 15 calories.

I doubt it. How much are you eating? I don't know if one can physically eat enough celery to have it affect your diet too much. :lol3:
Although, I love peanut butter on mine and that definitely would effect your diet. :lol3:

It takes more calories to digest celery than it contains. If you're worried, snack on romaine or spinach-- you pretty much can't go wrong with those.
If you get your other macros sorted out though, I'm sure you can adjust your diet in other areas that are far more critical than celery.

I kinda keep a feedbag of it and snack on it all day. I'll worry about my other 1800 calories first. Just thought I would ask :)

So not true.
That would mean this is a negative calorie food and that just eating more and more celery would put you in a caloric deficit after a certain point.
No such thing as negative calorie foods.

I wish there were. Imagine going on a diet and eating to lose.
I think pizza may be one. :lol3:

Okay, this is another one of those myths I bought into -- after looking this up, I have to say I'm wrong & you're right.
Sorry Romedoggy -- not unlimited, but this is still probably not your problem area if you're not getting results. I'd cut starches, simple sugars and/or some fats before you cut veggies-- assuming you're eating a reasonable amount. :)

So you're eating 1,800 cals and you're hungry? Isn't that around maintenance for most women, Erik?

Most women? no...it all depends on their weight as well as their metabolism...that is why for maintenance it is somewhere around 14-16xBW everyone is different...(or 17 if you are smuggie  :jk:  )

Ok so 1,800 is on the high side right? One more reason why the OP should not be hungry and having to eat cups of celery every day!

That is so funny you ask this question. I think that everday of my life. My salads consist of a large amount of celery. I find it fill me up too. My two salads have at least 2 diced cups in each. Then add the lettuce and steamed spinach, chicken, tahini, apple cider vinegar and spices. I hope it is okay??? But I think my calories may be a bit lower. I am only 5'2". Sometimes I think it might be too much sodium???

Unless you are eating the salt shaker, sodium is not an issue. It is actually a good/important nutrient to have in your diet.
