Okay I feel that I'm going to have to ask. I was workingout legs yesterday and I was all good on my squats nice and warmed up with good heavy numbers I finished my 4x6 full squats then went to move on to reverse lunges so I grabbed the 10# plates in each hand and started to step back and I just droped straight to the ground. I felt a shooting pain in my left quad like it had been ripped all the way down. I got super hot and turned really white. Chris helped me up and I was not able to bend or move my leg. So I thought that I may have really torn something. So I iced it and wrapped it and heated it. well now it still hurts when I walk. What else can I do?

Probably some kind of strain.

Partial tears usually result in some degree of bruising.

See your doctor.

I called the doctor this morning and they said that it sounds like I just have a strained muscle. They said that if I don't get better IE no pain when I stand up from sitting to call them next week.

You're doing what you can. They sometimes call it RICE therapy. An anti-inflammatory or muscle relaxer might help with the pain.

R - Rest
I - Ice
C - Compression
E - Elevation

until you are symptom free i would not attempt to run - that will only set you back and make it take longer to heal...
