I want to try carb cycling and these are my original numbers I calculated.
I used 12 x bw (164) – 500 cals = 1468
My lean body mass is 119 lbs, if I figured it right.

High =cal 1945 Pro-178 Carb-238 (2xLBM) Fat-31
Med=cal 1468 pro-178 carb-119(1xLBM) fat-31
Low=cal 1349 pro-178 (1.5 x LBM) carb-89 (.75 x LBM) fat-31

I’m wondering if I can still get results if I eat more carbs. I do horrible on low carbs (anything under about 125 = tired, can’t move and sets me up for a good binge).
So could I do carbs like this and still lose body fat?
Low-125, Med-165, High-205

Sorry columns got screwed up when I transferred it from Word.

My understanding from reading the information on Carb Cycling is that 12*BW already puts you at a deficit, so 12*BW should be your MEDIUM day. On my low days I tried to eliminate all carbs other than fibrous veggies.

So I should not have subtracted another 500 calories?

Yeah, you shouldn't have subtracted more. 12 x bw is the calorie defecit for weight loss. You don't want your calories too low.

Ok, that just seems like too much though, but I will go back and refigure the numbers.

Any thoughts on the carb question?

I don't know, but I was wondering the same thing. I started carb cycling last week, and had my first low day on Saturday (12 carbs) and Sunday (32 carbs). I suddenly morphed into super-biatch... lol. I was so sluggish and tired. Then I screwed it all up on Monday, when I was allowed to have carbs again (but wasn't spposed to have fat, which is the part of my diet that got screwed up).

Oh well.

Anyway, I'd be interested in any advice that people post here.

Eat more fat. 31g :blink:

No wonder you're having trouble on low carb days.

Refigured, would this work to start out with?
12 x BW(164) = 1968

High=2618
pro-205 (1.25 x BW)
carb-328 (2 x Bw)
fat-54

Med= 1968
pro-205
carb-164 (1 x BW)
fat- 54

Low = 1798
Pro-205
carb-123 (.75 x BW) and I'll work on going down from here on low days
fat-54

Looks ok, but the calories need to be lower on the low days ... hence the low carb recommendations.

So unless the low days are really low the benefits are minimal?
Or should I just try finding a different dieting strategy?

The point of low days is to create a big caloric deficit.

Or should I just try finding a different dieting strategy?

Can't advise you on that. That's up to you.
