Does anyone ever have days where their workout was just blah? I could barely make my numbers today. I was having tension in my back with deadlifts. And cardio is another story :treadmill:

It was so frustrating! I haven't had a day like this in a while.

After a certain point, we can't expect to PR every workout. Or even perform up to par every workout. Missed meals, missed sleep, job stress, life stress, etc, will all factor in...and sometimes you'll have to give up on the heavy stuff and go through the motions on the lighter stuff so you can come back better another day. It happens and it sucks. But unless you're a noob, you need to accept it and move on.

Yeah yesterday my HIIT cardio was messed up because a guy next to me what making unpleasant noises with his throat and nose. Normally I do 7 intervals, but I only manged 5 and was really hurting near the end, when I usually don't. The stress of that definitely inhibited my workout.

Happens to everyone.
Sometimes on those days, when I realize it's just not going well, I just call it a day and head home. Then I'll try again the next day.
If they start happening too frequently, I take some planned rest.

Couldn't agree with this more! It's funny though because even though I know this...it doesn't make it any less annoying with I have a crappy workout.

Seriously, it was very unpleasant. I don't go the gym to experience stress, I go there to relieve it. Fortunately the asshole ratio is pretty low at my gym.

at least sometimes you can cover noises up with music or whatever.....it is the stench from those who neglect to bathe on a regular basis that make me nearly vomit!!

Well I was listening to my music, but his sounds were overwhelming... Ditto on body stench! I especially don't care for exposed armpits in the gym, that's just nasty! Particularly when they're 12" from your face and you can't move because you're in the middle of a set on another machine. :muahaha:
