Alright ladies...

I cannot do the "fake eyelash" deal. Id like to find a good lengthening AND thickening mascara.

tell me what you like and why :)

EDIT: to say this is for competition

I just got a sample tube of mascara from Merle Norman and I really like it. It doesn't clump and it really extends them.

Merle Norman (http://www.merlenorman.com/products/products.html)

It's the Lash Lift, first one on the mascara page.

I love Lash Exact from Cover Girl (http://www.covergirl.com/cgcollection/eyes/mascara/mini_lashexact/index.jhtml). It has a funky rubber brush. I'd think any mascara with one of these new brushes would be awesome.

I really don't think you could ever go wrong with the classic Maybelline pink bottle. I used it when I danced and was in theater. The key is making sure you get as close to the lash line as possible, and applying three to five different coats before the prior coats have a complete time to dry.

I just bought the Oreal Volume shocking mascara, total waste of money, both of brushes is way too big and is making your lashes very heavy, clumpy.

However I liked the Oreal Double extand Lash Fortifier. The best one so far for me. It give me long lashes with definition.

( Can anyone tell me how to insert an link into a word... )

I agree. It was the most hideous mascara ever. :ban:

I use Cover Girl Super Thick lash in the red tube. I have sparse lashes and it's one of the only ones I like. :)

Yep, Maybelline Great Lash. One of the most popular mascaras among makeup artists.

Gotta agree with Pinkglitter and Kripsy...try Great Lash! I also put on about 4-5 coats before each has dried for a more dramatic look when I'm going out.
Oh, and best of all, it's cheap! ;)

Benefit BadGal - Thick brush, really thickens lashes, not so great on length

Lancome - Defincils, 3 -4 coats of this bad boy really pops the eyes

You could try a few individual lashes at the outer corner of the eye for some added oomph.

Doesn't it clump? I don't use it, but I'm thinking of changing. I get tired of clumps and having to wipe the brush with a tissue every other time I use it.

IMO it does clump and I hate it...it's like it never dries or something and makes the few lashes I do have stick together so that I end up having 3 lashes.

Great Lash has never been so great for me...but I like

Revlon Fabulash

Loreal Voluminous

Loreal Lash Architecture (can a get a little clumpy on the brush, though)

Lancome Definicils

Almay One Coat Triple Effect Mascara (relatively new)

I think all of these are good for lengthening and thickening - I need both!!

Lancome Hypnose - you can layer it on and makes your lashes look full. It doesn't melt off either.

I've never had problems w/it clumping. My main problem w/mascara has always been it melting down my face...even waterproof kinds. Great Lash is the only kind that doesn't end up halfway to my chin.

I think that the Maybeline one in the pink bottle sucks! The wand/brush is too small and it looks as if u don't have mascara on unless u put 4-5 coats. I personally like Cover Girl in the red bottle and blue bottle.

I love L'oréal's Voluminous mascara (in the grey tube with a gold coloured cap). My lashes don't clump together, I get good volume and length. Perfect for what I want. It's available in a few standard colours, waterproof and with a straight or curved brush.

I find Maybelline's.... the one in the pink tube that's been around forever... I find it flakes off and I end up with racoon eyes by 6 pm.

I think in addition to having a good mascara, you need a goo eyelash curler. I love Voluminous Mascara and CoverGirl eyelash curler. They work miracles.

I actually like the L'Oreal Volume Shocking. You have to use the comb thing for a few coats to separate the lashes. If you just brush it on once and leave it, it looks clumpy. But I found that if you keep brushing your lashes, they start looking thick and long. I've gotten many compliments on my lashes using this.

I absolutely     Lancome Defincils. The only problem is that I think the tube dries out pretty quick, and after a few weeks its not as good. But for the first few, it rocks.

I found that as well with all three of the Lancome mascaras...Hypnose, Definicils and Amphicils...seriously, they would dry out like I've never seen before. I mentioned this to the Lancome rep at a department store and she rolled her eyes and agreed...they know the damn problem!

I agree with that. Hypnose is amazing for just about the first month you have it, and then it's sticky. It's entirely too expensive to turn to crap so quickly.

I'm using Cover Girl XXL right now. The volume is really good, but it's only made in black and brownish-black (which is pretty much black anyway), and I just don't think that redheads have any business running around with jet-black eyelashes. It doesn't make much sense. I'd love it if it came in a lighter brown color. It's not sticky, though... and it doesn't clump, either.

It's soooo good when you first get it!
I don't buy their mascara anymore, I wait till I can get some little samples of it and use that. They have tons of samples all the time. Next time you're at the counter, ask for a bit and use that. Who cares if it dries out? It was free.
Be nice to the counter girls, they have the sample power.

Yep. Had the same problem. The trial size are just perfect though. You use them up before they can dry out. :D

I just bought a tube of Eye Fly Lash Extender from Givenchy at Sephora. This stuff is amazing. It doesn't clump and gives you awesome definition! I've been through so many tubes of mascara trying to find the right one, it's nice to finally get something that works well.

The fibre rich actually has little fibres in it so when you put it on the fibres thicken your lashes. The pro lash lengthens.

Do you know MAC? If any of you don't check it out they have amazing products.
