Someone mentioned this in another thread.
Who here thinks splenda causes sweet cravings for them? Is this just the powdered splenda or the liquid too (like Davincis)?
If it does cause cravings have you been able to keep it out of your diet?
Not for me personally. (ironically I was discussing cravings with someone today and I honestly think I don't even get actual cravings for specific things )
However, observationally, I think this might be the case for more than actually realize it.
What about you Jackie?
I believe it does. I cut it out because I'm allergic to it, but I've noticed that it's cut out a lot of my cravings and I am better able to stay on track. When I start reaching for things like gum and diet pop it usually triggers me to start looking for actual sweets and junk I shouldn't be eating.

Honestly, I don't get why people need to sweeten everything. I like my green tea plain with nothing added. But some people must add sugar to their coffee/tea. Why is that? Sugar is a poison to the body.

Really can one have refined sugar in moderation? I'm going to throw out my refined sugar packets and buy stevia...

What a waste. There are starving children in Africa.

I have cut back my use and I haven't noticed much difference. And as for why do we sweeten things...I think everything should taste like candy  :jk:

Just a suggestion...:)
Many times there are food banks that will gladly take things like this when you don't want them. :D

I honestly dont know if it causes cravings for me. I dont use a lot of it, but I use enough. I use more stevia actually. I like EVERYTHING sweetened. I add it to my oats, my shakes, my cottage cheese, my coffee, my tea, etc....
I have a few more splenda packs left and about a 1/2 bottle of davincis. I think once they are gone I am going to try to keep em out for a while and see if it helps. I only drink diet soda like 2-3x a week so it'll be easy to do without those.

But would it be good for the environment(Global warming, CO2) to make a special trip just for that? Decisions, decisions...

Not if you use an electric car or ride your bike. :D

Don't have an electric car, and my bike is not suitable for such distances... But oh hell, if I find that I've accumulated enough cans/processed foods that I won't consume, I'll drop them off at my local food bank.

Then run. It is good for the quads and hamstrings and the lungs. And you can put your canned foods in a back pack which will create resistance like a weighted vest. :D
Or get on the bus gus!

You could check around and find a place that will pick it up during their 'rounds'. As my mom tells me, "Where there's a will, there's a way"
