What are your tactics to avoid going off your diet?
I drink coffee
pray
keep busy
shop
and then eat sf jello. I have found that after a cheat meal the next day is hard. I have my cheat at meal 5 on Sat night. On Sunday I am starving and it is even a high carb cycle day on Sunday. I am eating more than enough to be full but I just want more. It takes everything in me to remember what is important. I told my hubby that it is remembering my goal. If I give up, I have already lost. However, if I keep focused I am a winner whether or not I place in the competition. What about you guys? May 10 2008 I will be a winner!

I just had a victory w/ this less than 30 minutes ago. :D

I was at Kmart and the Cadbury eggs (my fav chocolates) were on sale 4/$1.50. I simply told myself NO. It's a tactic that I am finding myself doing more and more often--rather than trying to take my mind off of it or 'substitute' what it is that I want. :)

I bought the minis for some reason and I don't even really like them. they will be eaten in the house but not by me.

I'm trying this. It's common to drink tea after your meals in Portugal my family all did it growing up. It aides digestion they say. I"ll see if it helps cravings too.

I have been drinking a lot more h2o. Also I tend to read other forums about other peoples weight loss journeys....for some reason that has kept me busy and intrigued for the last two weeks.

Take a bite, take a drink of water. Take a bite, take a drink of water. It's amazing how full you'll get doing it like that. It doesn't help with the cravings but you can eat less per meal which allows you to eat more often.

Wanna - How often are you eating???? I see no problem eating every 2-3 hrs, I do - it means your metabolism is sky-rocketing, burning-up fat. I try to always eat salad first and I faithfully drink a gallon of water per day.....I buy drinking water in gallons and put a fresh one out every morning....

As long as you're eating clean, eating every 2 hours should be OK. If I eat something dirty my body tells me right away it doesn't like it, with a sugar spike and a head-ache. I haven't had a piece of Halloween candy two years in a row.....!!!!!!

Do you take a daily vitamin???? you probably should, I take CLA and Chromium Picolinate,
the chorm is supposed to level-out your sugar spikes....do you do the protein drinks????
you want to take one before bed so that your metabolism cranks up while you sleep....

That's my two cents, if someone agree's or disagree's - let me know.
Thanks,
clc.

Eating every two hrs doesnt guarantee your metobo is ticking. Its about getting the cals right/creating a deficit.

i have no effect from eating 'dirty'.. eating clean again wont matter if you not eating in the right cal range to be burning fat to begin with. Many do just as well eating less/larger meals.

Not many find supplements useful.

I try to always eat salad first and I faithfully drink a gallon of water per day.....I buy drinking water in gallons and put a fresh one out every morning....My best fat losses were gained while eating about every 5 hours or so. It's not how often you eat as much as it is how MUCH you eat.

I've dropped fat while eating crap. It certainly is not thebest way to go about it, but eating clean doesn't equal fat loss. I've gained while eating only clean foods. Once again, it's how much.

Do you take a daily vitamin???? you probably should, I take CLA and Chromium Picolinate,
the chorm is supposed to level-out your sugar spikes....I've had success w/ hunger when using chromium as well. I don't think everyone responds to it the same though.
do you do the protein drinks????
you want to take one before bed so that your metabolism cranks up while you sleep....What kind of protein drink are you suggesting?

Grid,
I put one scoop of whey protein in my oatmeal in the morning (1 cup OM, 6 egg whites,
1 scoop whey -strawberry!!!)....brand=Gold Standard whey, then at 10:30 am, pre or post 2 scoops cookies and cream, with one banana, flax seed, 1 tbspn soy PB.....then at nite I drink one scoop of Casein (Gold Standard) whey because it's slow releasing....it works for me...at least I think it does !!! .....clc.

I am in process of a contest prep right now so I am eating according to a plan. I take some supplement and drink protein powder. I was asking this question to see what everyone does when they get hungry. Just seeing how everyone else deals with there dieting process
