I can't do them but would love to! I want that to be my goal this year - to do a few on arm push ups. I have no clue how to begin. I once read negatives but I've tried and always fall flat on my face that way too.

I've read doing them on a bench ( you know arms on the bench legs on floor....takes the extra weight off the upper body.) Trying that was also a total embarassment. :suicide:

Anyone with suggestions.....I'd welcome them

Start on a wall maybe?

If you have someone to spot you have them wrap a towel around you core area and "assist" you while you go through the motions. Then as you get stronger, they can help you less and less.

Good suggestions to both. I will try against a wall first. I also like the towel trick.

Get your legs out wide. And by that, I mean as wide as your flexibility allows. This changes your leverages and makes them a ton easier, while still keeping your angle of press the same, since strength is somewhat specific to angle (there'll be carryover from the inclines, but I find working on something directly usually gets me there faster).

Yup tried having legs out wide....didn't help...still fall down. I feel like a weekling. Although I am looking forward to trying the towel and wall ideas. Thanks.
