Does anyone know or have experience with this? I have an extremely high arched foot , it looks deformed. As of late I've been experiencing extreme foot, leg and back pain and I'm wondering if these would be related? I think I'm going to go to the podiatrist but I hope I don't have to start wearing nerdy shoes

Anyone have any input? Thanks!

I have crazy high arches. I just try to avoid flat shoes like flip flops and that sort of thing. Some days they bother me more than others though.

You may have some "trigger-points" in your calves that refer pain into the foot and lower back. Usually happens to me after a calf work out.

I have a really high arch too. I have always had a hard time with finding comfortable shoes. Strappy sandals - forget it! Even regular "comfy" sandals - I get blisters on the ball of my foot after a while. Lately its been getting worse - my feet go numb after 10 mins on the treadmill or elliptical. I tried changing shoes, sports insoles - no luck. I was actually just looking for a specialist today - there is a clinic near where I live that does gait analysis, etc.

Most likely, it is related. I went to a podiatrist several years ago and he made me orthotics to slip in my sneakers. They support the arch of my foot and wearing these has significantly reduced the amount of pain I was having in my low back, knees, and hips. I also get chiropractic care to help with the various pains.

I have high arches and low-back pain (dull, aching pain, but almost always there). However, I'm convinced my back pain is the result of an epidural years ago.

Everyone, thank you for your input! I'm going to go see a specialist for this problem and I'll post what they say!
