Do you have nutr. info for the two?
Whatever tastes better. (technically there are differences, assuming the former is a whey protein concentrate, but really, in the big picture, it doesn't matter).

so there is really not that big of a deal. Why does the isolates cost so much more?

Because they are pure protein with no fat and carbs and there are additional steps/processes involved to remove those carbs and fat.
So the isolate would be better during contest prep when trying to keep things as clean as possible?
What would be great isolate PPs to try?
Or maybe I should just look up the 100-page PP thread!

Define 'clean'.
I think using a whey protein powder that has a mix of whey concentrate and whey isolate is fine (such as ON 100% whey, champion nutrition pure whey stack...), contest prep or not. For the residual amount of carbs and fat that you get, it honestly isn't going to make that much of a difference.
As for some whey isolates that you could try, some people like the Syntrax Nextar proteins.

No, it doesn't matter.
Again, see my earlier analogy - chicken vs turkey.
