We moved into a new house last august and it has a sauna. My husband and I have only used it a few times this winter. I'm wondering how many people use a sauna after their workouts or other times.
What benefits do you think a sauna can give ?

:omg: I'm so jealous!!

I love saunas. But I don't use them RIGHT after a workout. I wait long enough for my HR to stabilize again, and for me to not feel as flushed. Plus, I try to get in an extra liter of water between a workout and going into a sauna (plus, I take some water in with me).

As far as benefits from it, I use them purely for relaxation purposes. If I can, while I'm in there, I do some stretching too. The heat seems to help me get a better stretch and avoid any potential DOMS.

Is it a wet or dry sauna? (I just wanna live vicariously through you with it )

Thanks I can use it for both it's dry, or I add water and the vapors make it wet. I think.
I took one last night about an hour before bed, it totally relaxed me and helped with my cold (breething and stuff). It was pretty nice. My husband loves adding water.
I read it's good for you skin, so that a bonus if it's true.

I  Saunas!!!

You are living my dream life now - sauna in the house. When is the sleepover party and what shall I bring with me?

I am not really sure what the health benefits might be, but I find them relaxing so that's good enough for me.
