I just moved back to AZ at the beginning of the month. I had no appetite for the first two weeks, then I went back to CO and had a normal appetite. Now that I'm in AZ again, the appetite is gone. Before, I thought it might be stress. I'm wondering if it could just be the climate. Anyone else had this experience?

oh yeah I find I always want much less food during the hot humid summer months than when it is cold.

Thanks for the responses. I'm glad it's not just me.

I definitely have this. It was a nice 80 or so degrees today and I didn't want to eat. Fruit was the only thing that sounded good, we just don't have any. I always have this problem right when it starts getting warm outside.

I'd be lying if ice cream didn't sound good too.

That's the truly sick part. I don't want to eat anything--not even ice cream. ::cue scary music:: :(

Wusses...if I let heat stop me from eating, I'd be dead. Its 93 and almost 100% humidity. It's lovely weather.

I got in my car at 9 this morning and it was already 92. I am in AZ too! I do not miss the midwestern humidity. This is much better. It is hard to eat when it is hot.

I grew up in Indiana and moved about six years ago. Went back there and my hair curled up on my head Yuk, I will not move back there. Michigan was beautiful but still too humid.

Strive, I believe it's the Mississippi blood in us. I can't stand the cold either but I thrive in hot weather. Bring on the heat baby.

I'm in Texas and am feeling the same thing.
I don't have much of an appitite when it's hot, I just want to eat fruit all day...and that's it. So I just try to stay inside as much as possible ;) Then I feel more normal.

I travelled in Cambodia for 6 weeks and lost 10 pounds. seriously, and I was not that big to start with. It felt like an exhaust pipe or a hair dryer was on my back at all times, I would wake up drenched. sick.

I dont get as hungry in summer time as I do in winter time - I think another part might have to do with activity levels in the summer time, etc. But yeah the heat is like an appetite supressant - at least for me! :baby:

I agree the heat kills the appetite. My husband works outdoors in AZ and goes all day without anything to eat, just drinks plenty of h2o. he has to mentally remember to eat every couple of hours even though he doesn't feel hungry at all.

What's worse is that my friends think this is the way to go. They say, "just don't eat then. Your body will tell you when it needs food."

Yeah that does not help. I suggest staying indoors and eating under the good old AC. Is'nt that how we live here.

Nice point.

I used to perpetually complain about the weather as I'm one of those people who has to complain about something. After spending a winter in Armenia (not seeing the sun for months, crazy fog, and freezing my arse off) I was cured. Could the reverse be true? Cold = appetite. I think I could prove that theory. I ate so much - probably for lack of anything to do.
