View Full Version : Length of ideal cycle for E/C

Seems like some people cycle this 3 days on one day off; some 2 - 4 weeks on, one week off; and others never stop.

My questions are:

1. For optimal results and continued success of E/C what is the ideal cycle length/break and why?

2. Is there any benefit in taking one day breaks from using it?

What are your expectations from using it?

Energy? Appetite suppression? Fat loss?

All of the above, but mainly appetite suppression.

Stimulant effect wears off over time, so as with any stimulant you typically need more over time. I know a lot of people that have followed a 5 on/2 off protocol for these reasons.

Anoretic effects should remain.

There is at least one study that says the thermogenic effect is potentiated over time, but quite honestly EC is more of an anorectic agent than it is a theromogenic one.

Thanks. 5 days on/2 off or 5 weeks on/2 off?

The former, although the latter would be fine as well

There's countless ways of cycling anything.

Does it have any muscle-sparing benefits?

About dosage...does weight have any datermination on the amount taken? I always see everyone state they take 25 mg and have often wondered if one were to weigh a great deal more than another would the dosage change and how is that determined?

double bump! :p
don't you have to take more when your body gets used to it? like take 2 or 3 a day instead of one. but no more than 3? that's what I heard but I don't know why. my box says to not take more than 4 (or is it 6) per day

Take the dose needed to get the effect. I get a mild, but noticeable, effect from 10mg ephedrine/100mg caffeine. A pre-workout dose would be higher, but I'm glad I started low to gauge the effect as a morning stimulant. I recommend splittalbe tabs...nice being able to control my dose :)
But the corrolary to taking what's needed for the effect is to watch how your body becomes accustomed to it, particularly if you're taking it frequently...if you initially noticed an effect at 10mg, but now need 25mg to notice anything, it would seem to indicate that you've been unkind to your ardenal system and need to stop taking it and let your body learn to function properly again.

Andi, the maxim recommended dose is 100mg/day. Not that that sounds like a good idea to me.

good post Jaleena, thanks! (my poor adrenal system with all the caffine I drink  )

I doubt you're messing with things very much with just caffeine, particularly if it's all from coffee. There's other stuff in there that causes nausea in most people before truly large quantities of caffeine are ingested...even if going the pills route, the body kind of shuts down when given an extreme dose, instead of becoming over-stimulated and adjusting to it. There are some people naturally much more sensitive to caffeine than most, but for most of us, the body is self-regulating.

oh good. I drink about 5 cups of coffee with my ephedrine though...

If it's Folgers, I understand. If it's Starbucks (at the strength they brew it), I'm in awe. I'm good with a grande there (16oz?)...much more isn't good.
5cups with your ephedrine, though...doesn't it take a while to drink the coffee, so it's spread out, even if they are monster super-strong cups?

Yes. I don't know exactly what you're wanting to read, but Googling "muscle sparing effects of ephedrine" turns up a ton of hits.
