For those who do steady state cardio, what do you use? I always stay away from the elleptical and opt for the treadmill or stationary bike. Does it really matter? There's also this thing that looks like your skiing(can't remember the name) or the stair climber.

Walking outside
Walking or running on treadmill. If walking I put it on 7.0-15% incline (lower incline for running).
Stair Master
Stepper
Sometimes the rower
Sometimes jump rope

I need different stuff or else I get bored

I've been using the elliptical lately. I usually have it on a pretty high resistance at a slower pace. I've noticed though that most tend to stay away from it, is there any particular reason? Just curious.

If I don't use the elliptical, then it's usually the treadmill, stairstepper or stationary bike. I've tried the stepmill a few times, and holy sh*t! It's a killer workout, that and me being afraid of falling off the back of it....it's a scary workout as well!

In the summer, it's outside: running, road biking or blading.

When it's yucky or winter, it's inside: treadmill, stairclimber or spinning bike.

I have to be careful when biking outside with my hubby because it turns into all out sprints. Guess that wouldn't be SS :opps:

or rarely I will do the elliptical

EDIT to add that recently i have been doing 2 indoor cycling classes a week for my steady state cardio. I really like them!

I notice lots of dislike for the elliptical.

I don't feel like it is challenging enough even on the hardest level plus it makes my feet go numb.

Treadmill, stepmill, stationary bike, walking the dog outside. I hate the elliptical, my feet always hurt when I use it.

Interesting. I guess some people are ok feet-wise with it and others aren't. I hate the treadmill.

I enjoy using the elliptical, but I do notice that there are times when my feet do hurt while I'm on it.

I primarily use the stepmill, stair stepper and stationary bike. I will sometimes walk on the treadmill at a high incline too (12-15% incline).

I personally don't use the elliptical because I don't like it. The motion feels weird to me and my feet tend to go numb after 5-10 minutes on it.
