View Full Version : What's your favorite regular/gradual sunless tanner?
For me:
-gradual sunless tanner: Jergens Natural Glow Firming for Medium/Tan skin (I've tried all the "gradual" ones and this one is the best! it's not greasy, it has the faintest, prettiest sparkle and I can use it morning and evening without ugly build-up; BUT- I do a full-body salt scrub once/wk)
-regular sunless tanner: I've never been able to find one that I liked; that's the reason I'm posting this.
Does everyone here tan in a booth?
Still  !
no and no. dont like funky fake stuff unless for stage or a special event I'll use L'Oreal Paris bronzing gel fake tanner.

i DO NOT tan in a booth........
if i have an event coming up and i need a good tan......i go get an airbrush......LOVE THAT!!!!!!!
otherwise......i use the neutrogena spray mist or the neutrogena foam mixed with my lotion......it goes on so much better that way........i tried that famous daves stuff.....and thought it was marginal at best.....i hated the smell and the color was just okay.........

Hands down the best by far...Hawaiian tropic Island Radiance self tanner. It is what I used to get a base going for my comp. Why is it so good? It doesn't make you smell funny, its not sticky, it dries very fast, completely streakless, nice even natural color. If used in conjunction with a tanning bed, you will get dark, but a very natural color.
Jergens is amazing as well, great for a slow tan, and applying wherever, whenever.

I'll try that! Thank you! ;) I don't like baking myself in a booth (plus, it can get expensive; and I don't want more wrinkles/moles later on in life than I'm already going to get). I used Mystic Tan to get a base for my shows last year and it was great! :thumb: But I like to use something every day (since I have to use lotion anyway) that will keep me slightly "golden" year-round. ;)

i've tried the Nutrogena spray and lotion and I found it smelled absolutely nasty. A couple hours after I put it on I couldn't stand myself any more and I had to shower....it works great, but I can never leave it on....
I just got Kiehl's sunless tanner. It's a little pricey ($22 for 5 oz.), but I wanted to try it. It doesn't smell bad and gives a really nice color.
I'm naturally paper white, so I had to find one that wouldn't make me look like an oompa loompa. I probably won't buy it again, though, because of the price.

I have tried almost every self tanner out there and each one has their downfalls. I just discovered Famous Dave's Self Tanner, suggested from another board and love it!!! Doesn't smell, no streaking, natural looking and last several days without looking funny.

Dove has a new gradual sunless tanner that's really good - I use Sublime Bronze for my face. Not orangey like the rest I've tried.

I've used the l'oreal sunless tanner. It looks good and I thought it dried fast and didn't smell. No more tanning beds for me after several skin cancer scares.
I bought Neutrogena Sun Fresh Sunless Tanner yesterday for medium/deep skin tones with grapefruit/tangerine scent. It is hands-down the lightest in texture I've ever tried; I was going to use it only on my legs because I was short of time but it spread and sank in so easily that I used it all over.
I woke up slightly darker but I would definitely do 1-2 more coats to really look tan. It seems like it's a cross between a gradual tanner and a sunless tanner. I'll try using Jergens Gradual all over in the morning, and the Neutrogena Sun Fresh every other evening (with 1 scrub session/wk to eliminate build-up).

I'll definetly have to try the scented one. No sunless tanner I've tried ever smells too good.
