I've been eating rice for the past month. What are other diet friendly carbs that I could substitute?

I'm not a big fan of sweet potatoes.

I just responded in your journal, but assuming you match up your calories in the sub first and foremost, you can put in any number of things.

What do you feel like?

Quinoa (NOT a grain!) and lentils both have decent amounts of protein for a carb source.
Buckwheat (also not a grain) is supposed to be good too, but I've not yet tried it myself (other than in pancakes).

Quinoa as stated is an excellent alternative grain, if you like brown rice you will enjoy this change. Millet as well.

Saw they have rice twists now too, made by Lundberg same brand as the rice cakes that I use... they looked yummy! :)

Maybe you can try out Anca's cinnamon brown rice recipe she has posted in the Recipe section. That looks :yum:

ETA: I realize it's still rice, but it's probably different from how you've been eating it :)
