I've read conflicting views on why and even if flax isn't the best to eat if you're hypothyroid. What are everyone's views on this?
Are these dietary restrictions (flax, soy, some veggies, green tea etc.) true for all types of hypthyroidism? Mine is secondary, my actual thyroid is fine but I have no TSH. Thank you in advance :)

Flax is a goiterogen in a raw form so I wouldn't reccomend using it. Same goes for soy. Things like cruciferous veggies are fine in moderation and if cooked. Green tea is also fine in moderation.
TSH is a pituitary hormone - do you have a pituitary abnormality? So you have completely normal T3 and T4 levels but no TSH?

Yes I have a pituitary tumor that's causing me to be deficient in all the pituitary hormones. Before starting meds I had low tsh, t4 and t3. So my thyroid is fine expect it's not being stimulated, so it's not fine afterall. I guess I worded my original post badly :)
Thank you for your reply

Goitergens will affect how your body absorbs and converts thyroid hormones, so even if your levels are optimized, its still best to avoid them.
PS- good to hear you've got your levels optimized. Pituitary issues are a bitch!
