I am having a small amount before training....so they get used during training.

I never did. Just a small amt of veggies. Carbs only came during refeeds.

Thanks I was just reading Charrissa journal and saw that she was dieting this way right now. I do not think I am ready for that.

honestly if you don't go into it with the right mindset I would not advise it at all....it can be brutal but I am using as a tool to get my fat loss jump started again and I am embracing it as just another stage in my journey.

She is only doing that short term (a bit over a week) due to an error she made on her previous program - so now we have to try to catch up a bit.

When I did it last year (w/Erik) it was on a 3-4 day PSMF then 1 refeed day pattern... it's not too bad.

Is it similar then to carb cycling but with even lower amount of carbs? Just trying to learn a bit. I don't think I have ever done this form of dieting. If you cycled this occasionally though your dieting process it will help stimulate fat loss?

NO carbs, other than fibrous veggies, is pretty much what it is. The option for pre w/o carbs is there, but you'll train only about 2x/wk. You get 6g fish oils, fibrous veggies and protein. That's your food.

I find that it is hard for a very short time and then the hunger seems to go away.
Protein Sparing Modified Fast...protein and fish oils baby

Protein Strictly Motha F***. As Noel said, protein. fish oil, and for me lots of salad. I did this quite a bit on cardio only/off days in prep, but had higher carbs on training days. Lyle's book has really good nutrition/physiology info as well as the diet, and IMO well worth the money.

Is cottage cheese allowed or mostly meat/protein shakes?

Yes, not only is it allowed, it's encouraged! 2 svgs of it (or ff cheese) per day.

I am using no fat cc with pp as my last meal. You really should get the book though for specifics as I am actually enjoying reading it.

That works fine. I've done it on the weekends. You can change it up to suit your desires.

what kind of results did you get when mixing it up? How about your exercise patterns. I do not see doing any HIT or boot camp. What about just 2 days 5x5
