Anyone have this done? Basically, it is a shaving of the curve/hook portion of a hooked acromiom (top of shoulder blade) as I understand it. I think it is outpatient surgery. Wondering about pain and likelihood of being pain free (my hook impinges my supraspinatus and/or ?? and causes a variety of pain in my neck/shoulder area along with spasms of the supraspinatus from time to time. The weight training has helped my posture and strengthening the RC muscles including my rhomboids to keep my shoulders down and back (I have rounded shoulders, short pecs, stretched rhomboids) but I still have bouts of intense pain in 1 or more of 5 places probably because of the hook. Anyway, I thought someone may have had this surgery or similar. How long before you could lift again and to where you were before? Thanks in advance.

The rehab will depend totally on your doc. Each one has their own post-op protocol, which you should follow, because only your doc knows exactly what he did during surgery. Results will depend also on how successful they are at removing the source of the impingement. Good luck!
