 I need to change gyms.

I'm trying to decide whether to go w/ a different (closer) gym or invest in my home gym that is already started.

What do you need to add to bring it up to speed?

Power rack w/ lat tower.

Everything else is pretty much up to par.

Have you started shopping around for those two pieces of equipment?

Yep. I'm not ready to buy yet though. We are planning a move from this apt into a townhome early next year so I'd like to wait until then b/f buying so we don't have to move that stuff. :lol3:

Then why are you thinking about joining a gym that's closer to home if you're going to be moving in a few months, and can complete your home gym then?

We plan to move VERY close by. We like the area, just need more space as the kids grow.

You beat me to it. By far the best prices, and they do have a power rack with lat attachment. There are 3 pages of exercise equipment. You have to go to the bottom of the page and click the next page #. :thumb:

You're off to a bad start w/ your braggin'!! :jk:

I have options w/ my gym, but they are all about 30 mins away. The one that's w/i 10mins is HOT and the equipment isn't as good (or plentiful) as I'd like.

I drive about 15 minutes and I personally couldn't work out at home because I would procrastinate and probably not get it done. :(

Besides I like using the pool and having all kinds of different equipment available.

Do you stay focused when you workout at home?

when i train at home i do great except when i forget to close the door to my gym and my puppy comes in or one of my boys. I love the flexiblity that I have at home vs having to plan when i take off and go to the gym, because i have to factor in travel time/ around the entire family activities too.

My gym is about 15-20 min away depending on traffic (sometimes it can be 25-35min if I go during rush hour). There is a closer gym (Defined Fitness) that is probably 5-10 min away, but I love my current gym because it is a small training gym, and sometimes Im the only one there. Very nice atmosphere.

I do have my own home gym too, so if not in the mood to leave and Im not planning on using anything 'fancy' I can workout there, which would cut my commute down to <1min. We definitely have enough to train adequately at home, but leaving and going somewhere else is nice sometimes too. The home gym is shared with my husband and my son too, so as long as our workouts done conflict it is great!
