View Full Version : Food Scales
My digital scale is all jacked up. It's reading EEEEEEE
We only bought it a few months ago - 85 freaking bucks.
:banghead:
I tried a new battery, hitting it, banging it on the counter, and when that didn't work, I decided against stomping on it.
Piece of crap.
I need a scale recommendation. I'm stressing out that I have to eyeball my food now that I'm dieting. :wigging:

$30 at Target. It's been working for some years. I don't know that name.
We don't have a Target here.
So you're disqualified and banned for 1 week. (Haha - watch how fast that news would spread eh? Banned for recommending a scale from a store not available in Canada - that Erik guy is crazy).

I got an inexpensive Escali scale for about 20 bucks on Amazon about a year and a half ago. It changes easily from grams to ounces, and the tare feature works too. I had to replace the battery recently - other than that it's worked fine thus far.
You can borrow my pink one...

I have a salter one that I love. Amazon doesn't have the model I own, but they have several other salter ones.

I have a Salter one from Williams Sonoma. Cost like $60
I've heard good things about Salter. Do you want a basic one that just weighs or one with a food database that tells you macros?
Whenever I'm looking for something, I google it and read up on it.
Oh you could try Ebay too! I got my mini scale there (that I sneak into restaurants during prep).
(I know... this is gonna get me banned for 3 weeks! :lol3:)

I also have this one:

it is not really necessary to have when you have a meal plan outlined for you, but otherwise I love it. Perfect for refeeds because you can set a target and just add up in your log on the scale. You can add any foods you want to the list. So I just tabulate through that when doing refeeds or when I was counting calories.
Got one. Laura picked up one at Walmart - $15!!!
Freaking $85 piece of crap.

For $85 I think I'd expect my scale to cook my food for me. :lol3:

I know this does not solve the problem re buying a new scale...but have you taken the old back to the store or called the manuafacturer? They may be willing to exchange it.

I would have ... but I chucked the receipt. :tantrum:
