Well, I had planned in my schedule to take next week off from lifting. I am going on vacation. Anyway, it turns out that I am having to miss this week from training because I am sick now. Sore throat, fever , all that fun stuff.

Question?

Since all my father in law has is a smith machine. Yuck. It really limits me to start my next phase next week.

So what should I do?

I was thinking doing some running, because I am going to start training again for a triathlon. Doing some swimming and maybe take a few yoga tapes with me to do. Definitely will be in the pool, because I will be in Phoenix, Arizona.

Then after this two week lay off start my next phase of training which is hypertrophy. I had been concentrating on fat loss. My last phase was about 10 weeks, so my last week off was 10 weeks ago.

Does this sound good? I want to stay active because I get antsy if I do nothing and I have to be flexible and adjust because of the unforeseen sickness.

Thanks, Donna

Ok. since no one has any thoughts I am going with two weeks off with light cardio and yoga and will start my next phase after that. I am such a ninny. I know what to do. I just like to here others input sometimes to see if there are other opinions. So please feel free to comment.

I think a break will do you really good. Stay on your diet and maybe a bit of cardio, otherwise give your body a break. :)

I think you should take a break every few months from lifting. It will bring you back to the program refreshed.

Answering your own posts works quite well I've found.

Not that I've done it in the past...
