OK I didnt want to put this is the health and beauty section so bear with me....have any of you been *ahem* "stuck" and just totally not felt like you can eat anything because your so backed up? Well I feel like crap today and feel so full even though ive only eaten twice ( i usually have eaten like 4-5 times by now), and am wondering, would it be OK to just make another protein shake for dinner? I ask because I had a 1/2 scoop PP in my oatmeal Preworkout today, and then a PP shake PWO.....that would mean 3 scoops today and I never have that much ( Im told one a day is plenty!) I just dont know I feel so lethargic and run down because I cant go.....worst feeling EVER! Thanks and sorry if TMI...

My thought is that a protein shake is not going to help you "go", only real food is going to get things moving.

If you can afford it on your food plan, black licorice always works for me.

More fruit would help too, and lots of water.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I would eat some Bran Buds or something and forget the shake. One meal that is not on your diet won't kill you.

Heck, put some Bran Buds IN your coffee, that otta work!

Oh!! LOL!!!! That makes sense now!

I am never backed up so I can't help you there. But some of my ex coworkers had that problem and they started using this yogurt called Activia and it really has helped them.

I have the same problem once in a while. My system gets sluggish at times.

Coffee doesnt always work for me.

Try to chose veggies/fruits and starchy carbs with the highest amt of fiber. Lots of water.

There is an herbal tea called smooth move. That works.

Hope the discomfort passes.

Coffee
Oranges
Red River hot cereal

These 3 things work like a charm...

All you need to do is eat some of the "sugar free" candy/chocolates out there. That stuff will have you emptied out in no time.

If you're really in need you could try Epsom Salts. I've tried it once... just make sure you're close to home :(

i was diagnosed with IBS-C in high school..
while I dont know if that was my troubles.. here is what helps me to go EVERYDAY normal

-high concentration Probiotic
-Digestive enzymes prior to most meals
-lots to water!
-EFA's
-schedule time in the morning to go, I literally wake up 15mins early so I am sure to be relax, not rushed and go.
-a hot cup of coffee stimulates intesitnal contractions(to move things along in the morning)
-getting enough fiber, soluble as a good base, but insoluble to bulk things up (ie veges).
-If I am lacking on fiber intake one day, Ill add Benefiber at my last 2 meals.
-magnesium supplementation can also help to loosen bowels and hydrate a bit more.

note: if you take any anti-histamines (Claritin, Benadryl, Allegra, etc) or multi vitamins, can be consitpating for some.

overuse or dependance of laxatives can cause ever more troubles... impairing your bodies own normal functions for bowel movements.

have you seen a doctor?

I just wanted to add that it's okay to say you're constipated. We won't make fun of you... at least not any more than we would anyway. :D :D :D

Sugar free candy, like carob coated raisins.

Almonds work. Eat 10-20 of them.
Or I'll have a can of Diet Coke-the caffeine gets my system moving!

I drink water for a few hours and then have some coffee-- works really well (coffee alone before water doesn't seem to work as well because I always feel dehydrated first thing in the morning)
