View Full Version : Magic Shaving Powder
Those of you who have not tried it yet...:whipped: Get on it!! You don't know what you are missing. :D Best hair remover (next to permanent) out there!! And it is not expensive. :thumb:
A great thing about it is that you can use it up to every 48 hours. So you do not have to wait for hair to grow out. It can be stubble. (It's real 'use' is for black mens beards) It seems to work well as far as people with sensitive skin.
I think it is best to apply it with a hair color application brush. I also leave it on a few more minutes then the container says. I wait until I feel like its on the verge of a little burning. (trust me not painful burn) Then I rinse off with hypo allergenic soap. Just comes right off. You will be shocked!!

All I can say is this stuff is the BOMB. Best hidden secret out there. You definitely have to leave it on longer than what the bottle says.
My sister swears by this stuff, but I've never tried it. Do you have to do it as often as shaving?
ETA: Do you use it in on your bikini area as well or is it too strong?

I've used it on my legs once, but don't see it cost and time effective. I use it on the kitty/bikini area. And now that I have been using it a long time, it seems to grow back thinner.

Please tell me I can find this product in Canada!
Is it usually in the shaving aisle with the men's products?

I found it at Walgreen's on clearance for 25 cents. :hehe: I bought it all. It was mentioned in Glamour magazine this month, so it's only a matter of time before demand increases and they jack up the prices. Oh well, it's all good though. I'm glad an ethnic product is getting some recognition. Some folks are  about anything that isn't mainstream. Just glad I got mine first. :funny:

I never have and what I've noticed is that over time, it takes longer for the hair to grow back and it's thinner and more sparser.

So....it is no secret that I have had some landscaping....mishaps.:girly:
Is this only for the bikini line or is this being used for all the good bits? How long is it supposed to be left on?
And finally, is there any safety precautions that should be taken prior to use?
So....it is no secret that I have had some landscaping....mishaps.:girly:
Is this only for the bikini line or is this being used for all the good bits? This product is safe for facial, underarm, vaginal and or stray anal hairs. How long is it supposed to be left on? Time instructions are printed on the can, but I prefer to leave it on until the top 3 days of skin on my vagina burn off and the skin around my anus is a bright pink.
And finally, is there any safety precautions that should be taken prior to use?Yes, glad you asked. After registering the product (which is safe to use on faces and available at your local Walmart Super Center) with the Centers for Disease Control, you will then be issued MSDS (Material Data Safety Sheets) to be filled out and registered with your local county court clerk. After receiving your Hazmat Stamp, please obtain a pair of lead lined biohazard level 3 gloves and a body suit with the holes cut on in the vaginal and anal areas. Cordon of your bathroom and place one tsp of product into a BIOHAZARD approved container and mix with one tsp of water. The ideal mixture is one part product: one part water. Lower face shield over face to prevent the inhalation of toxic chemical fumes. Remove the government issued basting brush that you should have received when you received your government clearance to use this product in a non-laboratory environment. After product stops smoking and the fumes reside, dip brush carefully into product and apply to the area you wish to suffer chemical burns. Do not touch product until first layer of skin falls onto the floor. Discard this layer into the RED biohazard bag that is part of your kit and destroy in appropriate government approved facility. Upon the completion of this task, recheck both your vaginal and anal area for desired level of doneness and and remove the rest of the product as well as any undesired skin. These items are to be placed in the BLUE biohazard bag and destroyed at the appropriate facility.

Ok, public or shall I say pubic service announcement:
There is a Royal Crown brand of shaving powder that is sold right next to the Magic Powder for around the same price. Stick with the Magic Powder brand. I bought some of the Royal Crown because I was intrigued by the "lemon/lime" fragrance. This stuff stinks to high heaven. Not that the Magic Powder smells great, but this stuff is fowl. :ban: It worked just fine, but the smell made me want to gag. This product is "natural" and is the color of concrete when you mix it up. It might be "better" because it's natural, but it STINKS!! Luckily the scent fades quickly but still, :yucky:

I saw it at the dollar general when I went to pick dish soap last night since its the closest place and it was about 1.25 I was almost tempted to try it again but its cot corn starch in it and I'll stick to my veet. works just the same with less grow back for me. The shave powder would grow back fast like shaving for me.

Haven't tried it, but I like the idea that you don't have to wait for grow-out like you do with waxing/sugaring.
So... its much smoother results than shaving, for sure? No stubble? Or is there next-day-or-so stubble?

Angie, it's safe to use every 48hrs so you really won't have a chance to ever get a lot of stubble. I use it about twice a week.

Yeah, I saw that. But does the growth, in between Magic treatments, feel bristly like razor stubble? Or is it softer because its sort of dissolved off rather than cut off?
The reason I've always waxed (and now sugar) is because I can't stand razor stubble... so I like that it rips the hair out by the roots. But what I don't like is having to wait until there's enough growth to do it again.
Wish I could afford lazer hair removal... and just be done with it.
