View Full Version : Cheating, then skipping?

I know it's best to get right back on plan after a cheat, but wouldn't it also make sense to skip the next meal to keep your total cals closer to a deficit?
I'm having a late cheat dinner, but I'm still supposed to have my shake. But, I could very well just go to bed right after dinner and skip the shake (sadly, it's close to bed time and I likely won't be hungry).
What do you think?

If you aren't hungry, make it your last meal of the day and just go to bed

No, don't skip the next meal. Cheats should be controlled and only replace one meal.

Even if it's late?
I'm having a personal pizza, thin crust, lite cheese, veggies and canadian bacon and a small greek salad (dressing and cheese on the side).
Is that "controlled"?

Correct.
I personally find the cheat and skip to compensate to be similar to the cheat and do more cardio to compensate in terms of the thought process. I think it reinforces the wrong type of thinking about food, etc.
My philosophy says that if you can't eat your next meal because of your cheat, your cheat was too big. It's also why I suggest for the times that you can't get back on to finish out the day, that you reorder the meals so as to make your cheat your 'Meal 6' (or 5 or whatever).

Tonight, it's not necessarily that I'll be too full, it's that I'm eating too late...
:dope:
What to do?
Sorry for all the questions guys...

Then the last meal that you are "skipping" should be put before this cheat meal--there should be time if you are eating this cheat meal very late.
Make sense?

What to do was already answered in the post you quoted.

Yup, but poor planning on my part... Last ate over 4 hours ago and going to bed within 2 (and pizza is on it's way).
Guess I just gotta plan better next time (and tonight was not even a planned cheat, but I'm trying to do the best I can given that I have decided to cheat).
Bigger question:
When your head is just not in the game, how do you make yourself get remotivated?

What?
It's not a planned cheat ... and you haven't cheated yet. So why are you cheating?

New thread idea/topic.
