How do you drop water weight when you need to shed a little water temporarily? I know it's not the ultimate solution, but I have an event this weekend and I need to look GOOD. Any input would help- thanks!

I'm doing that already- I upped my H2O this week from 1 gal/day to 2 gal/day. Hopefully it should help. Thanks for your input!

I've heard dandelion root makes a good diuretic tea. I've never used it, but I hear good things about it. It's available at health food stores.

And yeah... lots of water.

Restrict carbs for a couple days; limit yourself to veggies, which have very low carb content (except for corn, peas). You can also do some high-rep (15-20) high volume depletion work. You'll drop a few lbs.

I think you need to up it way more than that. probably just drink as much as you can right now, if that is even enough time. and you could take a diuretic as mag said...

Yeah drinking more should make a big difference.

I've heard that asparagus has a diuretic effect, but I wouldn't rely solely on it if I were trying to shed a significant amount of water weight.

carb depleting does wonders for that though.

Unless you're semi lean dropping water isn't going to have any perceivable visual effect. The scale will go down, but you're not going to notice much more.

Best way to drop water is to load it and then cut it. Pretty straightforward.

By cutting water, do you mean cut it down or cut it to zero?
And how long for each phase - load for a week, cut for a few days - for example?
And loading is what - 10 L daily?

It depends

Thanks for the advice. I've upped my water intake this week and was planning on cutting it to only sipping tonight (the night before).

It may not make a perceivable difference to anyone else- it's more for me to just "feel leaner". It's going to be my first real "day off" in 6 weeks and I want to go into it with focus so I don't lose it and go overboard. I figured going into it feeling leaner would help with that and my confidence.

Plus I wanted to see how water loading would work on me before I actually compete.

You can't really test anything unless you're in comparable condition.
