I am a major snacker but have been very faithful to T's plan. I have followed it exactly only having one cheat meal every two weeks and not missing any other meals. Lately I have been getting my snacking tendancies back and each meal seems like it will not come fast enough. I have resisted the urge with gum. Lots of gum. My jaws hurt. I was wondering if there are any suggestions. Just something to break my gum habit. What do you do?

Hot tea helps me quite a bit. Hence the over-caffeination of Erin.
Also, I hate to say it, but sugar free bread and butter pickle chips are awesome. 2 or 3 of those makes me drink a liter of water and then I'm good for a while. Cucumbers sliced with some salt, pepper and fresh basil, with a drizzle of red wine vinegar.
Trident Vanilla/Peppermint splash gum is damn good too.
And then there's always the "I get to eat in an hour anyways-an hour's not so bad-then go do something constructive.

I agree with Sunshine/Erin - lots of tea - wait - lots of flavored teas get me through. I will go and buy about 5 different flavors and keep rotating them around. When hunger hits, pick a flavor.

Sugar free flavored coffee, diet pop, cucumber, celery, gum, pickle.... Just a few ideas. If I'm really dying I'll move my next meal up a little bit. :)

Some decaf coffee between meals usually holds me to the next meal when I'm feeling the urge to snack.

I, too, am a struggling gum addict. What I do: s/f lemonade, juice, etc (I try to stay away from carbonation), celery, s/f jello, occasionally I might have s/f hot chocolate. Ginger tea is good for sweet cravings if that's your vice.

Ditto on the ditto. When I feel the urge to snack, I guzzle it! (I also have been known to brush my teeth!!)

go do something!!

My meals are spaced 3 hrs apart so when I start wanting to snack I make myself go somewhere or do something. "They" say cravings only last 15 min or so, so go read a book, go for a walk, surf the internet, clean, anything to waste time (or be productive) until your next meal

I dont think we are suppose to stray off of the menu at all.....Maybe we should ask the boss what he thinks? I have a feeling he would not want us eating pickles and such throughout the day, I just check my clean list and they are not there???

I really do not want to add extras in to my diet. I want to stick with the meal plan. I think it is because things have been really slow at work so it seems like boredom hunger. Distraction sounds good. Thanks all

Speaking of eating its eatin time for me woo hoo!

Decaf coffee, diet soda and definitely water. Try seltzer water if regular water gets boring.

IMO A pickle or two is no big deal, but consuming the jar through the day is another. If it takes the edge off hunger and prevents you from eating other stuff or thinking about eating junk...so at the pickle!
