Ok, we're doing this thing at the gym that will involve me working out for at least 2 hours, if not more.
I KNOW I'll get hungry during it! What do you suggest I have? Something like "sport blocks"? A protein bar? I need something I can eat and digest quickly.
Whey protein isolate or BCAAs + maltodextrin diluted in a large amount of water and sipped on throughout.
Erik- how about an RTD in a can? Such as the World Nutrition brand (they have 2 kinds: 160 cal with 35 g protein; and 120 cal with 21 g protein). Very tasty. Minimal carbs and fat.
Why would you want to avoid the carbs?
What's the source of protein?

I think they have MRPs too. The protein is from milk protein concentrate+casein.
Wrong source for during-workout nutrition.

Thanks for the quick feedback, Erik! Unfortunately, I'm allergic to whey and couldn't find anything in our work cafe that would do the trick.
So, I had these:
http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/ProductDisplay?storeId=10053&langId=-1&catalogId=10052&productId=502173&cm_mmc=Goog_Prod_Search-_-Training-_-Clif%20Bar-_-CF-BLK-OR&mr:trackingCode=5E074091-C744-DE11-B4E3-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA
Seemed to work well.
We did 2 hours. A mix of stepmill, running, some bike, lots of lunges, some pullups... all at a very intense level! I burned over 800 cals (a LOT for me).
The clients got to train us today. It was fun!
:dumbbells:
Cheat meal afterward was TASTY!

If you're allergic to whey, would BCAA's work alone? We sell BCAA's at Vitamin Shoppe and I have never found a decent excuse to sell them to anyone; would this be a good example?
