I am going to three big formal weddings this summer! Tomorrow is the first. Next Saturday I have another one that includes travelling out of town, a rehearsal dinner, going out for drinks, 2 brunches, cocktail hour, and basically just lots of time spent around eating and drinking. Uhh, none of this is on my plan that's for sure!
I think I am up for the challenge but I gotta admit it's a little scary! Bringing food for the long car ride next week and I guess some PP & almonds, to keep on hand... but if anyone has any advice I am all ears!!!!

Make them your cheat meals! Be extra good the rest of the days and enjoy the wedding day :)

My thought on things like this are that these are one-time things. It is ok to enjoy food w/ family/friends on occasion. I say enjoy yourself. :)
Why do you HAVE to drink is my first question?
Why do you HAVE to drink is my first question?
Nobody really HAS to, but when they say this it's because they usually WANT to. It's the social thing to do, if u really didn't want to u just wouldn't, Period.
So like ws said above, use these events as cheats, maybe do damage control by chosing the most healthy options available, and be on track the rest of the time.

Why do you HAVE to drink is my first question?
Alchohol is not really my problem as I am a cheap date! 2 drinks and I'm feeling "very relaxed". Anything more and I lose track of how much I've had and into the "not pretty zone" (not to mention a major hangover). I have learned not to go there! Alas, wine was always served with dinner when I was growing up but now I rarely indulge because of the calories. Even the nightly margaritia or cold beer on the deck in the summer has gone by the wayside. It's the new me Erik!
As far as the weddings and related festivities, you guys are right, use cheat meals, choose healthiest options, enjoy doesn't have to mean pig out ... I'm learning. Sometimes I control myself at an event then "reward" myself the next day with a stupid cheat, which leads to the "flat tire syndrome" and so on and so on! I'm aware of it now, so I will not let that happen! There, I've put it in print! I will feel like a double idiot if I don't keep my goals at the forefront... and I am soooooo close!
THANKS GUYS!!!!
