View Full Version : Carb cycling and maintainence calories

I want to try carb cycling, but I'm a little confused about whether to calculate grams and calories by total body mass, or lean mass.

I weigh about 122 lbs right now, and just had my body fat measured with calipers at 24%. Assuming that's reasonably accurate, my lean mass is about 93 pounds.

I read Thunder's carb cycling article (and his other nutrition articles), and about forty pages of the carb cycling sticky on the Oxygen forums (I think that overload is what's led to my confusion.)

Is my maintainence around 1830 calories or more like 1395? 122-185g of protein or 93-140 or so? Should medium carb days be around 122g or 93? 240g of carbs sounds like a lot even for a high day, but I'm hardly an expert on these matters.

Sorry if I ought to have been able to find the answers to these questions myself, I just want to make sure I'm going to do this right.

Thanks for any help :O

1395 for maintenance at 122?

That's more like what you need for fat loss.

Use your weight to do your calculations.
