I went and bought my usual fish oils tonight and they were even on sale, 400 for 9 dollars. :woohoo:

But, I saw enteric coated fish oils- something I had never seen before. It claimed to have a higher absorption rate than the soft gels and they were slightly more expensive. Any merit to this?

I have no idea about absorption, but the coating reduces "fish burps".

My friend buy those kind of enteric coated fish oil. She seem to have noticed that she doesn't get those gross gag with the soft ones. I think the enteric coated caps are made with a different ingredient than gelatine ( if I'm not mistaken) and it's more thicker. So, it does take more time to digest them, when down in the stomach, they are a little bit too far to send some reflex gag up the throat.

But if you don't have those fish burp, I don't think it's worth to pay more.

:)

Edit: MAN, I stuck with my grammar!!

I have the entarac coated ones. They are way better to swallow and they don't cause fish burps.

It's like they're covered with yogurt or something?

Thanks. :)

I don't have problems with fish burps. I guess I'd get them if the absorption was better.

Since I go through them like water, I tend to buy the cheaper ones

coromega is an excellent source for omega three without the fishy after effects.
