What is the difference?
I happen to grab quick oats by mistake instead of old fashion (which I normally use)
and the only thing I can see different is how long to cook it.
Are they both nutrtionally the same?
Is one better to use (such as with eggs whites for "pancakes")
Just curious...
THANKS :)

use the container and no worries. some prefer the least processed, whole oats. Either will work well in your pancakes etc. I find quick oats get a bit squishier and i prefer to buy whole oats.

Personally I prefer unprocessed oats- flavor and texture (chewy). My two favorite brands are Silver Palate which has won numerous awards and Coach's oats which have a peculiar nutty flavor. Both can be prepared in minutes in the microwave or slo-cooked. Delish!!!!

I've always wanted to try that (they have it at Costco). I'm gonna get it when I finish my container of old-fashinoned Quaker Oats.
Speaking of quick-cooking oats: for the first time I bought some of the flavored Quaker packets and I'm not too crazy about them; the flavor is great but they're mushy and I like a thicker, heartier texture.
