I was just curious if this would or should change at all once you bring or are in the process of bringing your calories back up to maintanance.

I would think most people would have to maintain at least some minimal cardio in order to maintain their current conditioning.??I realize that fat loss is a function of nutrition but wouldn't some cardio be beneficial?

Well, I believe cardio is important for other reasons other than fat loss, such as endurance, a healthy heart, etc. Also, since the metabolism is sometimes depressed coming off a low cal fat loss diet this may help keep the metabolism up while increasing calories. I thought maybe it's not good to shock the system or make too many changes all at once, first with increased calories then cutting cardio. Not sure about that though.

Endurance conditioning or bodyfat.

Yes, I just have never been able to get away with eating that much w/o doing any cardio and not gain weight.

Then you weren't eating maintenance. If you gained weight you were eating over maintenance.

In that particular case, perhaps not. So you ate at 14X bodyweight and stopped all cardio previously?
Remember, all these maintenance suggestions are just starting points. You have to adjust based on your body.

I was eating roughly 14xbodyweight and not doing cardio when I had knee surgery and gained weight.
I didn't read the other threads where it was possible to be at 12 or 13xbodyweight for maintenance, I apologize :huh:

Well I am going to go out on a limb here and say endurance conditioning...I guess if one overeats they should know to add some cardio in to compensate.
