Thoughts? Who here has one and do you think it's worth the money? I keep seeing them at Costco demonstrations and they seem so amazing.

I have one and love it. I use it for baby food, for shakes, for soup purees. But I love to cook and do a lot of it, so it was worth the price. If you're just using it for shakes, I don't think it's worth it.

My friend got one from a Goodwill store here in town and paid $70 for hers!! She's had it now for over 2 yrs. and it still works amazing! I want one. You can get them refurbished for around 2-300 dollars. I know that's still a lot but it's a lot cheaper then paying full price for them.

I've always wanted one ...
We have a magic bullet which is GREAT for single <16oz shakes/smoothies...
A gf turned me on to the Ninja Master Prep/Blender Food Processor (http://www.amazon.com/Euro-Pro-Ninja-Master-Blender-Processor/dp/B002JM2V9K/ref=pd_sim_k_1)
It has a smaller container (about same volume as the magic bullet) and a larger one, that you could do a pot of soup in.
Besides cutting myself on the super sharp blades :uhuh: I have absolutely no complaints! It's awesome ...

While it's not as "cool" as the Vita-mix ... it is more affordable till you save up for one ;) ($36 on amazon.com)

Yes! Mine didn't come with the pitcher, I'd have had to order it. It got used so much that it finally seemed to die, so I picked up a Ninja at Target. I did find that the Ninja had more power ... but that might be due to my bullet being 4-5 years old now ;)
Kind of funny - a few weeks later I needed something small whipped up and the bullet worked again! So I leave that out for the kids.

watch if the bullet mug lost any of it's little prongs.. you can either adjust how the mug sits in there by rotating it OR use something to press down in the 'hole' where the prong used to sit.
I throw away a perfectly good bullet blender  cause i didnt know that.. one of my boys figuresd it out when it happened again with the second one.

I have to admit - I have the Magic Bullet and have not been that impressed. It doesn't seem to blend nearly as well as my regular blender. I've seen Amy P's videos and mine doesn't work nearly as well.
This weekend the demo is going to be at Costco for the Vitamix -- I'm going to check it out.

How does the veggie smoothie turn out? I've only put spinach into my protein shakes so far.

I bet in a Vita-mix they'd be perfect. Using my bullet if I used broccoli, I'd actually steam it a bit first to soften it up. Personally I just like plain greens in my green smoothies...

How does the vita-mix handle ice? We REALLY want a one, but every blender we've tried totally sucks doing ice?

Just bought it today from Costco -- can't wait to use it this weekend. While watching the demo - I tried a green smoothie, a fruit smoothie and chicken tortilla soup. All delicious and with fresh ingredients, didn't take longer than 1 minute for any of it.

From what I saw at the demo and what I've heard thru the online world - it completely blends all ice. I couldn't find one piece in all my taste testing. It made the smoothies thicker - almost like a soft sorbet. Yum!!!

I didn't see this thread and started another one about this!! Well, I just wanted to see who had one and what they thought. I'll repost my thread in here! I love, love, love it!!
I just got one last week and I've wanted one for sooo long but didn't want to spend the money. Now I wish I would've bought this a long time ago!! I love it!! I love the fact that I can throw just about anything in there and my family will eat it because they have no idea it's in there!! I made a spinach and pineapple smoothie this morning and my 7 yr. old loved it!!! I made a tortilla soup last night with some squash, celery, and red peppers, things my husband would never touch. He loved it!!! yay!! I'm excited!!! <-------this means eat, not cheat!

I LOVE mine. It's the most unbelievable machine. I got rid of my food processor because the Vitamix is so much more convenient to use and clean. I'm hoping to use mine to make baby food in the near future.
