Anyone familiar with this protein?? I got another email about the dangers of the arsenic etc. in the protein powders and it gave some info on this protein powder. Curious as to anyones thoughts on this powder....

I've seen that one bandied about, too, but first of all, have to note it has 160 calories and 19 grams of carbs (maltodextrin) -- which doesn't necessarily make it diet friendly unless you are using it as a post work-out carb (I know people do, but I just don't understand drinking carbs when you can chew them)! Also, unless they are providing customers with a copy of their heavy metal analysis (as a few companies have), I think there's no guarantee that their numbers are any better than another.

The main advantages of the Mercola seems to be that it is from grass-fed cows (though they don't say from what country and while grass feeding is better for the cows, it has no known effect that would enhance the whey) and that it does not contain any artificial sweeteners. On the other hand it's a concentrate, which may or may not suit your needs and digestive system. And then there's the biggest question of all . . . is it YUMMY? (My own search for a new PP has led me to some shockingly disgusting mistakes!)

The calories and carbs were a turnoff for me.
And I highly doubt that this is palatable..Is that a word?? LOL
I too am looking for alternative protein powders so if you find a tasty one, post it up please!! I currently use PVL. It's been the best tasting for me so far but has the sucralose which I'm trying to get away from the art. sweetners. I do use the Naturelle by PVL but not much variety there.

I'd imagine it tastes decent with 20g of sugar in it.

I have tried the Jay Robb whey and it is quite good, although very $$. But it does come from grass fed cows and is sweetened w/ stevia.

I posted this link a while back as well. I have not tried it, but I know Cathie bought the sample pack and seemed to like some of the flavors, chocolate especially. No artificial crap in that one. http://www.revolutionarynutrition.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1

I have been using a customized, blended protein that is sweetened w/ stevia that I ordered from True Protein. Its quite good as well, but I doubt its as 'clean' as some of the more expensive products like the Jay Robb or Mercola. However, the good thing about TP is that they have a lot of flavor options that use stevia, so Id check it out. trueprotein.com
