Is there another name for this exercise or a video link somewhere to show how it's done? The description is this:

Step legs wide, wrap arms around legs and grab your ankles. Drop your hips as low as you can then raise them high, without releasing your ankles.

I'm doing a cardio/weight class and am looking for new exercises to do. Is this even an exercise worth doin?

That sounds like a sumo squat to stand. I do them often as part of my dynamic warmup on leg days. They're good for hip mobility and to stretch the hammies. The only difference in the way I do them is that I grab my toes instead of my ankles:

I did this today and loved it. I will say it's easier to grab your toes then to reach around and grab your ankles!! Thanks for the video and input!!! I think this is a keeper for me!!
