Anyone had it done?

I just had my first treatment done-- on about an 11 sq in tattoo on my lower abdomen. The procedure hurt like hell but was over quickly-so no biggie.

It's been 4 days though and it's swollen and extremely sore. I've got a huge fupa and it hurts to bend.

Does it get better?

I have nothing to add other than this made me laugh out loud: "I've got a huge fupa...".

Sorry hope it gets better.

Huge Fupa...

*dies laughing*

I have not had this done. One of my girlfriends is getting a humongous black tattoo removed and she is about ten treatments in out fo thirty or more! I hate to say this but I don't think it gets better until its done :/

I have 2 tattoos that I have gotten most of it removed. It hurts worse getting them removed then it does getting it put on!!!! The one covers almost the whole side of my leg at the calf area. I have only had 4 treatments and it has faded tremendously. I haven't had any treatments done for awhile because when I was getting them done, it was at a facility that removed gang related tattoos for free and other ones for a very small amount of money. They are no longer running it there due to lack of funds obviously. It fades over time even if you discontinue removal treatments. Mine now unfortunately looks like I have varicose veins on the side of my leg because the tatto is faded but you can't tell what it was. I will continue to get a few more treatments sometime when I get extra moola! As for the pain after treatment, I just had burning sensation for the rest of the day after treatment and withing 2-3 days I was scabbed over and healing very nicely. Always within a week I was pretty healed up except for a slight red line where the laser went over my leg. I always used a numbing cream 30 minutes before the procedure and that helped TREMENDOUSLY with the pain during removal. You definately could feel it once it started to wear off though. If your pain continues, I think I'd go have it checked!

Emla cream was the name of the cream I used. I just told my doctor that I was getting my tattoos removed and he gave me a prescription for this cream. I would definately recommend it. It helps a lot with the pain!

I get these done every 8-10 weeks..well I have about 5 more sessions.. Does your person you a numbing agent before using the laser? If not, I highly recommend you searching for a med spa that gives you several numbing shots before using the laser. Also, I would be concerned with the painful swelling. The pain should subside within 48 hours but also your not suppose to workout until like 3 days after the laser session

This is my place I go too...

Another thing is you want to make sure they are using a good laser because scarring damage is always a major concern with some lasers.

Thanks everyone for the responses and information...

 Yeah, my roommate and I have been getting a kick out of the 'fupa' thing all week. :lol3:

I went to two different places and settled on one that had been in town longer and had better reviews and guaranteed me complete removal- albeit with a lot of sessions. The problem is my tattoo is large, on a sensitive area, and has a lot of teals/greens which I am told are the hardest to get off and the most painful when it comes to swelling and blistering. :(

I worked out the day after and it hurt like hell. Then I took off the next several days. Next time I'll just workout that morning, take the next two days off, and resume then.

I had planned to get 3 more before I compete again but now I'm thinking I'd better wait a bit longer between and just squeeze in 2 more sessions. That should be enough to fade it some so that I can conceal it better.

omg!!! I'd never heard of anyone suddenly sproutin' a "huge fupa".

Yikes! From everything I've read here, it almost seems like removal wouldn't be worth the pain and expense. I realize tattoos are difficult to conceal for shows but still...

The fupa is from the swelling (the tattoo goes pretty low).

It's really worth it to me. I don't like it. I really do want my whole stomach tat free and if it can be by my 30th B-day I'll be :shakeithappy:.

Alright then... here's to silky, smooth, clear, clean skin by your birthday!
