I'm doing a 12 hour (overnight) relay tomorrow night. It is a fundraising event for cancer, so it isn't a serious run. All competitors run or walk at their own pace, switching off with team members at intervals of their choosing.

I know that my team is bringing a crap-load of junk food with them, so I need to pack well. I also don't want to be hungry, because there is a pancake breakfast in the morning, and I have a huge weakness for pancakes and sausage.

I don't do portable lunches well (ask my daughter :) )... any suggestions as to what to pack would be greatly appreciated.

I have done the relay event too. I take a cooler with grilled chicken sandwiches, fresh seasonal fruit and containers of cottage cheese. I also pack lots of water. Local places usually donate food, most of which is not what you want to eat, but sometimes you have a few good choices. This is a great event which usually raises lots of money. If you are part of a large team, pick the late night time to walk/run. Is very quiet and peaceful! :)

Thanks... I am really looking forward to it. I lost an aunt who was very dear to me in February... and our team has purchased about 20 luminaries to light in her honour. It will be very emotional... but so worth it.

I've done Relay for the past 5 years and I absolutely love it! You will have so much fun. I can't help it but cry at least once throughout the night, especially when you see all the survivors walking

Have fun!
