Anyone have one of these? I just got one last week and I've wanted one for sooo long but didn't want to spend the money. Now I wish I would've bought this a long time ago!! I love it!! I love the fact that I can throw just about anything in there and my family will eat it because they have no idea it's in there!! I made a spinach and pineapple smoothie this morning and my 7 yr. old loved it!!! I made a tortilla soup last night with some squash, celery, and red peppers, things my husband would never touch. He loved it!!! yay!! I'm excited!!! :cheat: <-------this means eat, not cheat!

My new vita mix joined the rest of my appliance family early this month. I researched this purchase for over six months.Simply an amazing machine withe excellent blending capabilities, multiple uses, easy to clean and maintain.

I bought an older vitamix off ebay last summer. I love it! I use it mostly for shakes, especially for making them slushy. But I've also made soup and salsa.
How much do they cost brand new?

According to the Vita-Mix website, $450-$650 depending on the model you get. Ive wanted one for a long time but cant justify spending that much. I think Im gonna look online for a used one, thats a good idea.
Whoa! :faint:
I hope it does more than just mix things.

I have one and I love it. It chops veggies, grinds nuts into butters, makes ice cream (I mean protein cream), makes soup - even heats the soup (the blades are like super fast).

I absolutely love mine. I haven't eaten this good and healthy in years because it's soooo convenient to just throw everything in there. I made a broccoli soup in there the other night and blended it 6 minutes and when it was done it was too hot to eat right away!!! YES.....right outta the blender!! Things amazing. I can't wait to make my own peanut butter and almond milk. I got such a good deal on mine from QVC I couldn't pass it up. I paid $360 for it but I can make payments over the next 5 months for it so I wasn't gonna let it go.....I've wanted one for a looooong time!!

For the money I put into a juicer, chopper, blender, food processor, I could've bought one of these a long time ago. I wish I wouldn't have wasted my money on all the other products I've tried in the past and they haven't worked worth a crap! I bought all the products hoping the next one would work better then the last piece of crap I bought.

Are they a pain to clean? Lots of parts... Or is it pretty easy?
I still can't believe how expensive these things are.

That's one of the great things about it: you put hot tap water in, a squirt of dish soap, and turn it on. It works like it's own dishwasher.
I got mine online for about a quarter of the price. It's stainless steel, which is great, except when you want to look at what it's actually doing. But it still does everything the new ones do, so I really can't complain.
I've made soup too, and a few other things. Now that I can have fruit, I can't wait to make ice cream!

:yeahthat:
It's a magic appliance and the clean-up is unbelievable. Waaaaay easier than the million pieces of my food processor that I have since sold since I never use it anymore.

LOL!! I just gave my food processor away!!! I was so happy with my vitamix and one of my friends has never had any sort of chopping appliance so I told her to have at my old machine!! I love how easy it is to clean.....no taking apart anything!!!

I know I'm late to this thread but the Vitamix is worth every penny of $600. I hate blowing big money on appliances but they are workhorses. They are so tough you can grind your coffee beans in it or grate your own cheese.
My husband broke three blenders of mine making smoothies before I went to the mall, stopped at the drink making place, and asked what they had. I figure if they use one all day long and don't break it, it's good enough for me. They come with a ten-year guarantee too if not for commercial use!

Speaking of the smoothies in the mall, a lot of places like that do use the vitamix because it is such a good blender to use. I know Smoothie King uses the vitamix and the warranty is awesome too!

I LOVE my broccoli protein shakes! I use a scoop of vanilla pp, sometimes almond milk, vanilla stevia, and a bunch of frozen broccoli. Sounds weird, but SO yummy!
If I want some fat, I add: 1/4 or 1/2 avocado and/or coconut manna. Drool.

Protein ice cream!
water to first or second line of the bottom of the blender
Ice to 3/4 the pitcher
xanthum gum start with about 1/4 tsp but 1/2
protein powder (choc pb for me)
some WF choc dip (opt) or Choc stevia drops
**you can always throw some frozen spinach in there too. Wont affect the taste at all.
blend!!
I have to run it a few times and move the ice around 'cause it can get 'stuck' (mine is older/rebuilt Blendtec) but comes out THICK, Creamy and totally soft serve spoonable, instantly! :yum:
*you will definitely get a full tummy!
