View Full Version : Fat up
My old coach once had me do this.....My weight loss had stalled.
She had me eat a huge steak, then a tsp of peanut butter every hour. (just for one day)
Anyone? Thoughts?

Was it just steak at the beginning and then pb every hour, or was there a huge steak with pb hourly?

That would be heaven wrapped in delight.

That sounds great. My weight loss has stalled, should I try this? Actually, I probably had enough PB last night to count as one per hour

My thoughts WTF was she thinking.
That is bizarre.

It is very bizarre.
She was dieting me like a pre-comp diet.
I asked her why....she said "Alot of coaches throw in a protein only day...this is basically the opposite end of the spectrum"
It was a serloin steak in the morning. THEN 1 tsp pb every hour. That WAS heaven.

Wouldn't the opposite end of the spectrum be a carb-only day?

1tsp pb isn't much food at all...I'd say she was starving you even more than regular pre-comp starvation that day, steak aside. Unless you were eating the tsp pb in addition to your other meals?

At first I wasn't sure if you meant steak AND p butter every hour or steak THEN p butter everyhour. I was trying to imagine eating a huge steak and some peanut butter every hour.

Which would make more sense than just 1tsp pb every hour if the trainer were trying to overfeed her and jump-start her metabolism. Not that hourly steak would be the way to go about it, but her non-steak cals for the day are around 400
With that diet, I think I'd feel famished towards the afternoon and evening of that day. What is the rationale of having tons of protein in the morning and very small fat intakes every hour?

I wonder if PB would taste good on a steak?
Well, only one way to find out, I suppose!

:thunder: That is not a good reason!!
When you are told to do something there should be some type of research to back it up.
Coach: Eat this--like this
You: Why
Coach: cause alot of people do it :thunder:
The high fats were in ADDITION to my regular meals. I think she was trying to mess with my metabolisim...dunno-beacause my fats were very low throughout my diet with her.
The coach and I have since parted-irreconcilable differences

So you added a tsp of pb hourly to your regular diet? Okay, so that's gonna add an extra 750 calories or so to your diet for the day....
