Good morning, and greetings from beautiful Denver, Colorado! I am new to LBC, although I suppose at this point I am a "veteran" competitor! :)
I began competing in 2002 and have completed 10 shows since then. I've had some highs, and unfortunately a few lows in the past couple years. I have not competed since 2008 as my body and brain were just shot from years of prepping the "wrong" way! You can bet I will never go down that road again! I miss being onstage and I would LOVE the opportunity to compete again. At this point, I am still working to get back into consistent workouts and proper nutrition, while running two businesses and working on my master's degree! I still hesitate to commit to a show, because of what I went through before. My brain is still programmed that competing = massive deprivation and giving up my life to be chained to the treadmill!
I must say I am so happy to have stumbled upon the LBC site, as it is comforting to know that there are others who have been in a similar situation as I and have recovered and excelled above and beyond their previous competition success (and did so feeling great and not going crazy too! :) ) It is so comforting to know that there is another way, and that there are people here who are supportive and understand what we go through..
I am looking forward to meeting all of you! :)
