Eating clean is good for your cholesterol. Last year mine was right at 200. January I started eating clean vs my usual "healthy diet" . I just got my blood work back and my cholesteral was 166. This is great motivation for me because both of my parents have had high cholesteral and have had to take medicine to lower it.

I have high cholesterol too. A gift from both my parents as well. I've been taking lipitor for the past few years which as helped to lower it but my doctor figures I'll have to be on medication the rest of my life . Maybe now that I've been working with Erik it's possible it has dropped. I'm thinking I should go get it checked. I would love to not have to take it anymore.

Congrats 3sweeties for lowering yours through diet. :)

congratulations on your decrease! There are two numbers I am obsessed with, my CHOL and credit score.

Do you know though, the breakdown? HDL's LDL's triglycerides etc. I have been doing a lot of studying lately (my dad just had a heart attack) and this is actually more important than the total number. The ratio of HDL's and LDL's is important as well.

I didn't include numbers that are acceptable b/c my doctor is really conservative with this number. But good for you for doing this through exercise and not having to rely on drugs.

Excellent work on getting those numbers down! Wonderful!!!

Sometimes folks in general just don't understand how a good diet and exercise is the best way to keep their health under control. I understand there are some exceptions, but I am all for a prescription free life. Those drug commercials freak me out when they talk about the possible side affects of their drug. Thanks for letting me stand on my soapbox today. :)
